Government\u00a0has signed off plans to bulldoze green belt land in St Albans, despite experts\u2019\u00a0concerns.<\/h3>\n[vc_empty_space height=\"20px\"]<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Councillors\u00a0voted last month<\/a>\u00a0to permit 150 new homes on\u00a013 acres of\u00a0protected land off of Harpenden Road.<\/p>\n

But campaigners\u00a0claim\u00a0the council\u00a0ignored objections from environmental experts - and they say housing minister Robert\u00a0Jenrick\u00a0has now ignored them as well.<\/p>\n

Mr\u00a0Jenrick\u00a0had the\u00a0power\u00a0to block the development, but his\u00a0underlings considered the case on his behalf and\u00a0rubber-stamped it.<\/p>\n

Objectors\u00a0had\u00a0lobbied\u00a0Mr\u00a0Jenrick\u00a0to veto the application on environmental grounds.<\/p>\n

But his officials said they did not consider\u00a0the environmental issues, as that\u00a0had been\u00a0the council\u2019s job.<\/p>\n

Campaigners\u00a0are\u00a0now considering a judicial review.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0group,\u00a0called CLASH (Campaign by Locals Against Sewell Housing),\u00a0has\u00a0fought repeated attempts to develop\u00a0the land.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
