have been backed by councillors for the second time in six months.<\/h4>\n[vc_empty_space height=\"20px\"]<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section id=\"slider\" class=\"slider no-padding\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"wpb_column hcode-column-container vc_col-sm-12 col-xs-mobile-fullwidth\" data-front-class=\"col-xs-mobile-fullwidth\"><div class=\"vc-column-innner-wrapper\"><p>The Canford Park proposals, which set out details for 695 new homes, a 60-bed care home, community hub and \u00a310.6million in Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 payments, were back before BCP Council\u2019s planning committee yesterday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"subscription-content\">\n<p>As reported, committee members\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/news\/19172270.700-homes-former-green-belt-land-bearwood-approved\/\">approved the outline application for the site on land north of Bearwood in March<\/a>\u00a0but the plan was brought back to them for certain elements to be re-examined and assessed.<\/p>\n<div id=\"inArticleAd-1\" class=\"advert-container\">\n<div id=\"DFP_in_article_mpu\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Developer WH White Limited had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/news\/19506865.developers-frustrated-delay-canford-park-plans\/\">spoken of its frustration at this hold up<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, following a lengthy session of questions and debate at the Civic Centre in\u00a0<a class=\"section-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/news\/districts\/poole\/\">Poole<\/a>, planning committee members unanimously approved the application \u2013 in line with an officer\u2019s recommendation.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Ann Stribley, who represents the Parkstone ward, put forward the approval motion, which was seconded by committee vice chairman and Alderney and Bourne Valley ward member Cllr Toby Johnson.<\/p>\n<div id=\"piano-container-inside-article\"><\/div>\n<p>Cllr Stribley said all members on the committee had concerns about the impact the development would have on\u00a0<a class=\"section-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bournemouthecho.co.uk\/news\/traffic\/\">traffic<\/a>\u00a0although she said drivers learn to modify their routes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that this site is released from the green belt, given that we do need more houses, given that we definitely need more affordable houses, I can\u2019t now after all the questions that have been asked, see any potential reasons to refuse this application,\u201d said Cllr Stribley.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Johnson said there were vast benefits with the scheme, with members \u201call aware of the housing shortfall\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cWe have all been very frustrated over previous meetings regarding large schemes that haven\u2019t met the viability standard for affordable housing and now here we have one where they are prepared to put in exactly what we all hope for and I think that should be commended as much as anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"inArticleAd-2\">\n<div id=\"taboola-nq-mid-article\" class=\" trc_related_container trc_spotlight_widget trc_elastic trc_elastic_thumbnails-mid-desk \" data-replaces=\"DFP_in_article_2\" data-placement-name=\"NQ Mid Article Desktop\">\n<div class=\"trc_rbox_container\">\n<div>Following the committee\u2019s approval decision, the applicant will need to submit further applications to secure permission for various reserved matters.
